Respite Care Services and ‘Personal Budgets’

What is it?

  • The Council can advertise all care services on the library site. In addition, the 'Personal Budget' helps users to manage their expenditure.

How does it work?

  • The Council can register details
  • Web pages are created by library staff for the council to enter the details of care services.
  • MARC 21 tags are then generated to hold all of these details.
  • Our web based library system gives each user an account which keeps track of fines and reservation charges. These accounts can also:
    • Conduct online surveys to confirm need
    • Allocate resources into ‘personal budgets’ based on calculated need
    • Provide guidlines for personal budget expenditure.

Example Income Profile:

The library can receive commission from the care services that are advertised.

A Council can save money by using the library's wesbite to manage personal budgets instead of purchasing a dedicated IT system.
